The agreement was finalized with the state-owned JSC Uzenergosotish1 during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to France.
This agreement, established under the direction of the Uzbek Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, represents a significant achievement for the Artemisya project, situated in the Bukhara region. This innovative project integrates 126 megawatts of solar power, 300 megawatts of wind energy, and 100 megawatts/200 megawatt-hours of battery storage.
The power sales agreement will last for 25 years for solar and wind energy and 15 years for storage, ensuring the long-term profitability and financial security of the Artemisya cluster. The project aims to satisfy Uzbekistan’s increasing electricity demands, especially during peak consumption periods in the early and late hours of the day, thanks to its advanced storage capabilities.
The annual output from the Artemisya cluster will be equivalent to the electricity needs of around 2.5 million people in Uzbekistan, while also preventing the emission of 598,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year in the country.
Construction is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026 for solar and storage, followed by wind power development in the third quarter of 2026.
