The project, located in Caras-Severin County, has a planned capacity of 272 MW and is expected to generate around 569 GWh of electricity annually. Acquired at the “Ready to Build” stage, the project includes all necessary permits and grid connection approvals, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026.

We are pleased and proud to start this cooperation with VERBUND, Austria's leading electricity provider and a major hydropower producer in Europe. As expected, clean energy is becoming increasingly central to Romania's and Europe's energy landscape.

Sebastian Enache, board member of Monsson

Verbund has operated in Romania since 2012, when it commissioned the 226 MW Casimcea wind farm in Tulcea County.

We are glad to collaborate with Monsson, a reputable Romanian company, and see this acquisition as an important step in advancing Romania's energy transition. At VERBUND, we are committed to growing our clean energy portfolio in Romania, in line with our long-term sustainability strategy.

Adrian Borotea, managing director of VERBUND Wind Power Romania

Verbund aims to significantly increase its solar and wind capacity by 2030, with a target of producing 25% of its total electricity output from photovoltaic and onshore wind sources. Romania has been identified as a strategic market in reaching this objectives
