The project details collaboration on the design, procurement, and turnkey construction of a facility with an annual production capacity of 1.155 million tons of urea. The agreement was established between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and a consortium that includes Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Japan), Gap Inşaat Yatırım ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş. (Turkey), and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan).

Previously, Turkmenistan launched a similar plant, the Garabogazkarbamid facility, in 2018, which also has an annual capacity of 1.155 million tons of urea and 660,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, utilizing natural gas as its main feedstock.

Additionally, Türkmenhimiýa has signed another framework agreement with Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan) and Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Turkey) for significant renovation work at the Kiyanly polymer plant.
