Solvay opens consultation to cease production at Salindres site

Solvay has announced today a project to engage with its social partners regarding the cessation of TFA and its fluorinated derivatives production at the Salindres facility in France.

This planned halt in operations would lead to the elimination of 68 positions related to TFA and derivatives production, occurring between early 2025 and October 2025.

The decision to discontinue production stems from the ongoing poor financial performance of the Salindres plant over recent years, attributed to unfavorable market conditions that are not expected to improve.

In connection with this project, Solvay will record provisions of approximately €50 million in the third quarter of 2024. The majority of the associated cash outflow is anticipated to take place from 2025 onwards. The guidance for underlying EBITDA and free cash flow for 2024 remains unchanged.
