Slovakia deploys its first mobile EV charging stations

GIB (Gotion InoBat Batteries), a joint venture between China’s Gotion and Slovakia’s InoBat, has introduced Slovakia’s first-ever mobile EV charging stations. The company donated the units to the Government Office of the Slovak Republic, marking a milestone in the country’s push for sustainable mobility. According to the Ministry of Economy, these are among the first mobile chargers of their kind in Europe.

Designed for flexibility, these mobile charging units are ideal for businesses, large-scale events, and areas with temporary charging needs or underdeveloped infrastructure. They enable efficient EV charging without the need for permanent installations.

Flexible charging solutions play a crucial role in accelerating e-mobility by removing infrastructure barriers and reducing upfront investment.

Each unit has a capacity of 182 kWh, allowing it to charge up to five vehicles before needing to be recharged itself. With fast charging, an EV can go from 30% to 100% in approximately 40 to 60 minutes.

This initiative follows GIB’s decision last year to invest €1.2 billion in a new battery manufacturing plant in Šurany, making it one of Slovakia’s largest industrial investments in recent years.
