SLB announces new partnership to expand deployment of subsurface digital technology

Global technology leader SLB has announced a partnership with Shell to implement Petrel™ subsurface software across its global assets. This initiative is intended to enhance digital capabilities and drive efficiencies in operating costs.

Shell will utilize Petrel software, enhanced by advanced AI, to streamline seismic interpretation workflows. The aim of this deployment is to standardize infrastructure and workflows while accelerating scalable digital solutions, ultimately improving cost efficiency in operations. With a strong emphasis on collaborative innovation, this partnership will leverage the deployment as a foundation for integrated geoscience workflows, furthering the understanding of subsurface conditions throughout the asset lifecycle.

With a common focus on joint innovation, including seismic interpretation for both traditional E&P and energy transition workflows, the partnership will support Shell’s digital transformation journey.
