Baku to Host the Inaugural Go Net Zero Energy – Caspian and Central Asia Summit 2025

Decarbonisation, Green Hydrogen, and Innovation Take Centre Stage in a Landmark Regional Energy Event

Official Press Release. 28th of July 2025.

Set against the backdrop of Baku’s strategic energy legacy and forward-looking ambitions, the summit agenda will spotlight regional pathways to net zero.

On December 3-4, 2025, at JW Marriott Absheron Baku, the summit will bring together energy leaders, policymakers, and technology innovators from across the region in a powerful effort to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.

Organised by London-based Globuc and building on the success of last year’s Hydrogen in Central Asia and Caspian Summit, this high-profile business summit is set to become the key networking event for advancing the energy transition in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and beyond. Against the backdrop of post-COP29 momentum and mounting global pressure for climate action, the summit will foster actionable dialogue and cross-border cooperation across both the public and private sectors.

“The Globuc Hydrogen Conference was well-organised, featuring engaging and informative speakers. It was a great opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain valuable insights,” said Emma Mcfarlane, Director of Business Development. “Last year’s hydrogen-focused discussions proved that the region is not just interested, but ready to act. This new summit expands the conversation — integrating hydrogen, renewables, digitalisation, and finance — into a comprehensive platform for energy transition leaders,” added Marco Castagnini, Business Development Director at Green Spark.

Participants will dive deep into some of the region’s most urgent and promising energy topics: from scaling up solar and wind power to unlocking the potential of green and blue hydrogen, investing in modern energy infrastructure, and exploring innovative technologies such as smart grids, artificial intelligence, and IoT. The summit also promises to tackle tough questions about balancing decarbonisation goals with economic reality, and how to attract much-needed investment into clean energy projects.

The summit boasts an impressive lineup of speakers and contributors. Industry heavyweights, including Farhad Mammadov, General Manager, Green Energy Corridor Power Company, Almas Aidarov, General Director, Hyrasia One, Elvira Konakhbaeva, Managing Director for Strategy and Sustainable Development, KEGOC  will share strategic insights and practical experiences.

They will be joined by a diverse roster of energy experts and policy advisors, including representatives from the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy,  Manuel Andresh, Head of the Hydrogen Diplomacy Office in Astana, Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Kazakh Invest and John Roberts, a leading voice on energy security. Panels and debates will explore not only opportunities but also the risks and infrastructure gaps that challenge progress across the region.

A dedicated Advisory Board, comprising prominent figures such as Luca Raffellini and Livio Mazzuccolo (Confindustria Confindustria Central Asia & Caucasus), Dan Jordan (Honeywell UOP), and ESG expert Mahmud Nigmadzhanov (Uzbekneftegaz), is guiding the development of a balanced and impactful programme.

Over two days, attendees will engage in high-level discussions, interactive panels, and focused thematic streams on topics such as:

  • Decarbonisation of the oil & gas sector
  • Grid modernisation and energy storage
  • Sustainable fuels and hydrogen production
  • Financing mechanisms, risk reduction, and public-private partnerships

Networking is at the heart of the summit. A standout feature will be the Evening Reception on 3 December, offering an informal yet powerful space to forge regional connections and business relationships.

With over 47% of attendees expected to be C-level decision-makers, the Go Net Zero Energy – Caspian and Central Asia summit is a not-to-be-missed event for any organisation committed to leading the energy transition in one of the world’s most strategically vital regions.
