An additional option exists for photovoltaic development of up to 159 MW, which could be implemented based on cable pooling. These farms, operational in 2021 and 2022, have the capacity to supply clean energy to around 240,000 households annually. They are considered among the most modern and efficient wind farms in Poland, featuring 4.2 MW turbines, one of the largest in use in the country.
The transaction includes the purchase of wind farms in Dobrzyca (49.9 MW), Ujazd (30 MW), and Dominowo (62.4 MW). The Dominowo site uses Vestas V136 turbines, towering at 166 meters with 76.2-meter-long blades, the largest onshore units currently in operation in Poland. ORLEN Wind 3 of the ORLEN Group is overseeing this acquisition, which will boost ORLEN's renewable capacity to approximately 900 MW.
We are executing one of the most significant transactions in the domestic renewable energy market in recent years. Our extensive acquisition experience and operational scale allow us to effectively carry out transactions of this type. Our consistent investments in this segment aim to offer clean and competitively priced energy to our customers. By 2030, we plan to have approximately 9 GW of installed renewable capacity, thus becoming the energy transition leader in the region. The agreement concluded today will increase our RES portfolio with exceptionally high quality generation units. The three wind farms to be acquired are not only among the most modern in the country, but are also characterized by a great location, ensuring high winds, which guarantees a high degree of utilization of the installed capacity.
The new assets represent another step by the ORLEN Group into renewable energy sources in the Wielkopolska region, complementing existing ventures like the Przykona wind farm and the Gryf photovoltaic farm. Plans are also underway for offshore wind energy, with the construction of the Baltic Power wind farm scheduled to begin in 2024. By 2030, the ORLEN Group aims to achieve a renewable energy capacity exceeding 9 GW through various sources like wind farms, photovoltaics, and small modular nuclear reactors, with a substantial investment of PLN 120bn earmarked for green projects by the decade's end.
EDP Renewables Polska, a subsidiary of EDP Renewables, a major player in the renewable energy sector globally, is involved in this agreement. EDP Renewables, a division of EDP, is dedicated to the energy transition and decarbonization, operating in numerous markets worldwide.
