Erlan Akkenzhenov named Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has appointed Akkenzhenov Yerlan as the new head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as per the Decree from the Head of State. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Almassadam Satkaliyev for his contributions to the oil and gas sector, the oil and gas chemical industry, and energy, wishing him success in his new role as Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Atomic Energy.

During the introduction of the new Minister, Yerlan Akkenzhenov's extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly in the processing and transportation of oil products, was highlighted.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Head of State has set ambitious goals for a comprehensive renewal of the country's energy infrastructure.

Under the leadership of the new Minister, the Ministry of Energy staff will focus on executing strategic projects, such as the construction of three thermal power plants, the completion of the integration of the Western zone's power networks with the Unified Power System of the country, and the commissioning of additional power capacities.

Furthermore, key areas of focus were identified to meet the President's directives regarding the expansion of oil and gas initiatives, the timely execution of gas processing plant construction projects, ensuring stability in petroleum product production, and guaranteeing supply to the domestic market.
