During their discussion, they explored key areas of collaboration, focusing on joint project implementation and future prospects for attracting investments in Kazakhstan's energy sector.
The parties reviewed the current progress of the Kashagan field expansion projects and the construction of a gas processing plant at the Karachaganak field, aimed at supplying commercial gas to the domestic market.
Askhat Khassenov emphasized the importance of enhancing local content in major projects to foster local production development and generate additional job opportunities.
The meeting highlighted the Hybrid Power Plant project in the Mangystau region. In July 2024, KMG and Eni will commence the construction of a 247 MW hybrid power plant in Zhanaozen, utilizing solar, wind, and gas energy sources.
This hybrid power plant will provide a stable, sustainable, and reliable electricity supply to KMG's regional subsidiaries, including JSC Ozenmunaigas and KazGPZ LLP.
Additionally, they discussed future cooperation in the design of oil and gas fields.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to enhance collaboration in critical areas.
