At the 5th Go Net Zero Energy Summit, held in Budapest from 1–3 April 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Lummus Technology as one of our valued Bronze Partners. During the event, Jose de Barros shared powerful insights into how Lummus is accelerating the shift to a low-carbon future through cutting-edge technology and innovation.

Lummus, a global leader in process technologies, has added over 40 new technologies to its portfolio in the last five years, many of them focused specifically on energy transition and decarbonization. Jose emphasized that reaching net-zero won't come from a single solution, but rather from an integrated mix of approaches such as:

1. Reducing energy consumption
2. Electrification
3. Circularity
4. Renewable feedstocks
5. Sustainable energy sources

The energy transition brought us a unique opportunity to be creative—to innovate. Technology development will be crucial to meeting the challenges ahead.

He also highlighted hydrogen as a key component of the transition evolving from grey, to blue, and ultimately green with the importance of international cooperation to ensure global alignment and progress.
