The launch addresses a long-standing "performance gap" in green manufacturing: the struggle to maintain the mechanical stiffness and visual clarity of virgin plastic while incorporating high levels of post-consumer recyclate (PCR).
The rPP1025C grade is a natural-color polypropylene (PP) homopolymer designed for high-precision thin-walled injection molding and fiber extrusion. Its performance is predicated on a hybrid architecture that blends mechanically recycled plastics with high-performance "booster" polymers.
This formulation allows the material to function as a "drop-in" solution, meaning manufacturers can switch from virgin resins to rPP1025C without retooling their existing production lines or sacrificing processing speed.
The new grade is tailored for "contact-sensitive" applications where durability and tactile quality are non-negotiable.
Unlike generic recycled plastics that are often limited to hidden structural parts, rPP1025C is targeted at consumer-facing, high-precision components:
A critical hurdle for recycled materials in the cosmetics space is safety and regulatory alignment. INEOS has secured an FDA No Objection Letter (NOL) for the material, ensuring it meets rigorous safety standards for contact-sensitive packaging. Additionally, the recycled content is certified by RecyClass, adhering to the ISO 14021 standards for environmental labeling.
This release follows the success of the company’s previous rPP2030C grade and reinforces INEOS’s broader strategy to decarbonize the polyolefins market. The Recycl-IN range now spans multiple sectors, including automotive, construction, and textiles, positioning the company as a leader in the transition toward a circular economy.
