PRIME, a company that has made a name for itself as the main player in the circularity cycle, is doing a fantastic job in helping achieve this goal. Their superpower? They transform plastic waste into oil. And what makes this even more impressive is that this process is powered by electricity and can convert up to 40 kilotons of plastic waste into oil each year.

PRIME's technology has seen great success. They have managed to produce a melt from the plastic waste, which goes through a process of pre-processing, melting, and then placed into a reactor. The end product, a pyrolysis oil, is then used by Shell, who upgrades it into a gas. This gas is then used in the production of new circular plastic, thus completing the circularity cycle.
But PRIME isn't going at this alone. They believe in the power of collaboration and seek the help of other companies within the Port of Rotterdam area. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Meet the Port of Rotterdam team at Go Circular 2024 in Cologne.
Looking to the future, PRIME envisions a world where plastics are no longer used - a dream we can all get behind. But until that day arrives, they're not sitting idle.
They're planning to expand by building more installations like the one in the Port of Rotterdam and spreading their wings overseas. This allows them to produce more circular plastic, providing a temporary solution to the plastic waste problem. Onwards and upwards, PRIME!
