The Experion Operations Assistant, built on Honeywell's premier distributed control system, is an advanced AI-driven solution that revolutionizes how operators monitor plant operations from the control room. By integrating operational analytics with real-time predictive insights, this solution streamlines workflows within critical refinery operations. With this innovative system in place, operators can anticipate potential maintenance events before they occur, thereby reducing risks linked to unsafe operations and production losses.

Partnering with Honeywell at our Port Arthur Refinery represents an important step in our journey toward operational excellence across our facility. We believe this solution could contribute to safer operations, reduced downtime, and minimized product losses.

Raphael Duflos, VP and General Manager of TotalEnergies' Port Arthur Platform

TotalEnergies has already initiated an initial pilot of the Experion Operations Assistant at the Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) within the Port Arthur site. Early results indicate that the AI-enhanced solution has successfully predicted five potential events, aiding in the reduction of downtime and emissions from flaring. These predictions were made an average of 12 minutes prior to alarm incidents, allowing operators to swiftly take corrective actions before issues arise.

Honeywell's decades of domain expertise and industry knowledge are helping to solve our customers' toughest challenges with tangible solutions like Experion Operations Assistant. This pilot with TotalEnergies will mark a meaningful milestone for bridging the gap between autonomous technology and the operators that keep these facilities running safely and efficiently every day.

Located in Southeast Texas along the Gulf Coast, TotalEnergies' Port Arthur Platform refines crude oil into transportation fuels and produces petrochemicals used in various products, including plastics, rubber, and pharmaceuticals. This pilot represents a fruitful collaboration among Honeywell, TotalEnergies' Port Arthur platform, and its technology headquarters, OneTech.
