The Globuc Downstream Central Asia and Caspian Summit Analytical team have published a detailed 33-page document that offers crucial insights into upcoming downstream projects in the Central Asian and Caspian regions. In Kazakhstan, the report highlights several pivotal projects such as the first polyethylene production complex scheduled for 2023 to 2029, gas refining plants in Kashagan from 2021 to 2029, and six new production facilities by KazAzot from 2022 to 2026. Additionally, it details the expansion of production capacities at main refineries and the establishment of a butadiene and synthetic rubber plant between 2021 and 2025. Uzbekistan is also prominently featured, with projects like a gas chemical complex utilising Methanol to Olefins (MTO), the M25 gas processing plant, and the modernisation of the Fergana Refinery which is due to be completed in 2025. Moreover, significant developments include the production of phosphorous fertilisers until 2024, and a major petrochemical project in the Khorezm region.
The overview also includes Azerbaijan's extensive modernisation of the Baku Oil Refinery, expected to be completed by 2026/2027, and Turkmenistan's initiatives such as the construction of an ammonia and urea production plant and the modernisation of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries and the Seydinsky oil refinery.
