Composite Recycling thermolysis recycling unit delivered to Veolia

Composite Recycling (Écublens, Switzerland), a company that utilizes a proprietary static thermolysis process along with post-treatment techniques to recycle carbon- and glass fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP and GFRP) into reclaimed fibers and pyrolysis oil, has received its first industrial-scale recycling unit. This achievement follows three years of research, testing, and development in collaboration with various technical, academic, and corporate partners.

The unit, dedicated solely to Composite Recycling’s operations, is now located at Veolia in Aubervilliers, western France. The company aims to increase its operations with the target of recycling 2.4 tonnes of composite waste each day.

Composite Recycling credits its partner, Fiberloop (Partille, Sävedalen, Sweden), for designing and assembling the unit to align with the specifications of its thermolysis process. Initial tests have produced “excellent results, particularly regarding glass fiber recovery.”

Composite Recycling asserts that this unit reinforces its commitment to providing advanced composite recycling solutions and effectively closing the loop on composite waste.
