Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan may establish a joint polypropylene venture with SOCAR

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are in talks to establish a joint venture for polypropylene production, with SOCAR playing a key role. The initiative aims to kick off at the Khorezm Technopark.

This venture will also consider the production of high-density polyethylene in collaboration with SOCAR Polymer. Furthermore, plans to generate propylene from methanol and other chemical products are under evaluation.

Uzbekistan is home to significant chemical manufacturing facilities like Navoiazot and Maxam-Chirchiq, boasting a combined production value exceeding $1.5 billion and export earnings of $500 million.

This partnership with SOCAR is anticipated to enhance relations between the two nations and elevate exports within the chemical industry.
