Key Highlights of the Event

Representatives from the ministry, Azerenergy OJSC, and Masdar (UAE) gathered to celebrate this achievement. The event underscored that the Garadagh SPP, which was commissioned in 2023, marks Azerbaijan's first large-scale international investment project in renewable energy and plays a crucial role in the country's shift toward green energy.

Environmental Impact

In its two years of operation, the plant has achieved remarkable statistics:

  • Generated one billion kilowatt-hours of electricity
  • Saved 220 million cubic meters of natural gas
  • Prevented 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions

The ceremony also featured a symbolic signing of a certificate. This document was signed by Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy, and Rustam Gasimov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Azerenergy OJSC. The certificate was presented to Abdulaziz Alobaidli, Chief Operating Officer of Masdar.

Energy Production

It is noteworthy that the SPP produces approximately 500 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, supplying green energy to around 110,000 households.
