Amcor and Flügger introduce paint container with 50% recycled material

Amcor and Flügger have joined forces to unveil a new paint container designed to minimize the use of virgin plastic while enhancing its visual appeal. This innovative container is made from 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and features a custom blue hue that aligns perfectly with Flügger's brand identity.

According to both companies, this packaging innovation aligns with Flügger’s strategic objective to incorporate more recycled materials without sacrificing product quality or user experience. Additionally, the containers comply with requirements for voluntary labeling schemes such as the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, which is widely recognized throughout Scandinavia.

We wanted a solution that delivered on quality and visual appeal, while also being made with recycled materials. Using 50% PCR was a natural choice — it's a proven packaging solution that we already use for other products, developed in collaboration with Amcor.

Boosting Brand Recognition

In addition to fulfilling sustainability targets, Felt highlighted that the new containers enhance brand recognition thanks to their unique blue design and colored lids. These visual features also serve a functional purpose.

The longstanding collaboration between Amcor and Flügger ensured a seamless transition to this new packaging solution.

Feedback from both consumers and our retail partners has been overwhelmingly positive — especially in terms of the color. The blue container is visually appealing and the lids in different colors help users quickly identify the right type of paint, which adds practical value, especially for our professional customers.

The new containers were launched in autumn 2024 and have been successfully introduced across Flügger's markets in Europe and Asia.
