Alsico unveils first garment made from recycled textiles

Alsico, in partnership with advanced recycler Sixone, has announced the creation of the first completed garment made from recycled end-of-life workwear.

In April 2025, Alsico embarked on a collaboration with Sixone to transform old polyester-blend workwear from its ARX garment collection facility into polyester chips on a large scale.

After several months of research and testing, this partnership has successfully produced its inaugural closed-loop fabric composed entirely of recycled materials.

Recycled Polyester for New Products

Sixone's innovative technology converts post-consumer textiles into polyester chips, which serve as the foundation for Alsico's new garment.

Utilizing a distinctive molecular analysis process, the company identifies the optimal recycling conditions for each type of textile, allowing it to extract pure polyester from chemically complex blends.

This method enables Sixone to surpass traditional fiber and color limitations, breathing new life into materials previously deemed unrecyclable.

The final garment, developed under Alsico's ARX initiative—which focuses on rework, repair, care, and recycling—has undergone rigorous testing and validation to ensure it meets the market and performance standards set by the workwear manufacturer.
