Focus of the Partnership

The collaboration aims to enhance the procurement of waste polystyrene (PS) feedstock for advanced recycling techniques.

We are very pleased with this agreement and the synergy between GreenDot, an early mover in the European advanced recycling feedstock industry, and our Styrenyx plants, the industry’s first commercial solution for scalable recycling of waste polystyrene.

Agilyx CEO Ranjeet Bhatia

GreenDot will supply waste PS to Agilyx’s Styrenyx facilities.

This initiative is expected to facilitate the conversion of this material into styrene monomer, promoting sustainability within the industry.

GreenDot's Role

GreenDot processes more than 300,000 tons (t) of lightweight packaging annually, leveraging its significant position in Germany’s extended producer responsibility framework.

Access to plastic waste is crucial for the success of this partnership.

Initial Collaboration Outcomes

The first phase of this collaboration is projected to yield up to 20,000t of specialized plastic feedstock each year.

We have unique access to high volumes of waste plastic through our existing programmes, and the expertise and capacity to produce advanced recycling feedstock.

DerGrunePunkt CEO Laurent Auguste

This feedstock will be tailored for uses within the European Economic Area, in line with Agilyx’s strategic goals.

Furthermore, the partnership aims to focus on supplying recycled styrene monomer to GreenDot’s brand owner clients.

This initiative is designed to assist these clients in meeting the recycled content targets outlined by the EU’s recently implemented Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.
